Meet The Coach

Hi. My names Dan Firth and I'm an accredited and  certified coach from Sheffield.

I’ve supported people for over 20 years across the private, public, and voluntary sectors, helping individuals to grow in their roles, explore new paths, and make meaningful changes that truly reflect who they are and what they want.

My coaching style is warm, practical, and completely tailored to you. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore your goals, get clear on what matters most, and build a plan that feels achievable and energising. I’m calm when you need calm, upbeat when you need a boost, and always ready to share a laugh when the moment calls for it.

I know that growth doesn’t always come in a straight line, so I meet you where you are -whether you’re fired up and ready to go or just starting to figure things out

My Story

I didn’t set out to become a coach.

For years, I followed the familiar rhythms - working hard, ticking boxes, doing what I thought I should. I climbed the corporate ladder, working my way across the public, private and voluntary sectors. I wore the title of “busy professional” like a badge of honour.

We've all been taught that you should “work hard", and my interpretation of that was long hours, higher than average salary and a five-hour round commute.

I managed contact centres and operational delivery teams. I was responsible for procurement and budgeting, developing new technology and managing large groups of staff, at times over a hundred.

On paper, I was progressing, I was a success. But somewhere along the way, I realised I was living by someone else’s map. My days were full, but not always fulfilling. I was helping others, but losing touch with myself.

The reality was that I was missing the moments that mattered to me the most.

The turning point wasn’t dramatic. It was a slow, honest reckoning. I began to ask better questions; not just of others, but of myself.

What mattered most?

What kind of life did I want to build?

What did it mean to feel whole?

Eventually, I made a change; stepping away from the prestige of a demanding role and lofty title to work closer to home where I could invest more time into my family. And getting to the point of making that decision wasn't easy.

I thought about what I enjoyed, and what I was good at.

In my spare time I worked as a football coach, and realised that helping people to grow and develop was something I enjoyed, and to top it off, I was good at it.

I trained in coaching and NLP not just to gain tools, but to deepen my understanding of people; and to reconnect with what was important to me.

I learned to listen differently. To hold space. To challenge gently.

To trust that people often already know the answers - they just need someone to walk beside them as they find the words.

Now, I coach because I believe in the quiet power of reflection. I work with individuals, leaders, young people, and organisations who want to grow; not just professionally, but personally.

These days, my own life feels more aligned.

I spend time outdoors.

I play and watch football.

I travel with my family.

I write.

I make space for reflection and growth.

I live by my rules – not everyone else’s.
